Is it possible that three years have flown by since my last Chandler Joseph Dean Interview? In September of 2000, I did an action-packed interview with the kid. The subject matter basically revolved around Pokemon.

Fast forward to today. Chandler re-read the original article, and decided that it was time for a followup. We used a more modern approach, using iChat/AOL Instant Messenger to type back and forth. This is exactly the way it went down. Notice how I managed to avoid the "P" word this time:



JH: OK, so now that you're 7 1/2, I know you've got some cool stuff to talk about. So let's start with your cello. How do like playing it?

CJD: i dont like practicing too much but i like doing it in public

JH: But practicing lets you learn new music. Don't you like learning new stuff on the cello?

CJD: i can learn from my freinds and my lesson and concerts and cello class

JH: Those things help, but you really need to spend time on the instrument to be excellent...

CJD: blah blah blah

JH: Hmmm...I see we're getting nowhere with this. So would you like to tell everyone out there in JazzHoustonLand about some of the fun stuff you did this summer?

CJD: well......

CJD: i played video games

CJD: and watched tv

CJD: and watched tv

CJD: and went online

CJD: and went on vacion

CJD: aaaaaaaand.......ate piza

JH: Gee....sounds like a great summer vacation...especially that pizza part. OK, so where did you go this summer? (besides to the TV!)

CJD: i went to my computer

CJD: and went to dinner

JH: Hardy har har....well, I guess this interview is over...

CJD: nooooooooo

CJD: i still gotta tell you about my vacion

JH: No more silly computer/dinner talk?

CJD: yupy dupy

CJD: here we go

CJD: i went to fiesta texas, astroworld.......\waterworld

CJD: are yu going to interview me about pokemon yet?

JH: Not if I can help it...OK, so what was your favorite ride at Fiesta Texas?

CJD: easy! the roadrunner xespress!

JH: And how about the best ride @ Astroworld?

CJD: ooh......tuff

CJD: the big kahuna

CJD: or the xlr8?

CJD: or the diablo fall?

CJD: i dont know

JH: Well, the Big Kahuna is in Waterworld, so we can scratch that one...& Diablo Falls gives me a headache, so the winner is.....

CJD: diablo fall

JH: Thanks for the headache...

JH: OK, now I understand you got a new gadget for your 1/2 birthday...

CJD: (drums please) the GAMECUBE!

JH: Now, for the folks out there in JazzHoustonville, would you mind explaining why the Gamecube is cooler than the Playstation 2 or the XBox?

CJD: cause it has betta games

JH: Mo' betta, eh? What is your favorite Gamecube game?

CJD: goin qackers

JH: Ah yes, starring Daffy Duck....

CJD: no donald duck!

JH: oh yes....so what do you have to do to win Goin' Quackers?

CJD: beat all 22 levels

JH: Well we certainly don't have time for that. In fact, we don't have time for anything else....I'll talk to you in three years, and see what's goin' on then. Thanks for the interview!
