Trombonist Bruce Melville Moves North
by Kelly Dean Published: Aug 31 2007
Trombonist Bruce Melville has moved to Grand Prarie, Texas. He didn't want to. He had to. No, it wasn't part of a plea bargain---Bruce's lovely wife Sharlu got the job of a lifetime offer to be Principal at Milam Elementary School, and Bruce felt compelled to tag along. As Bruce's son put it, "Dad, the first week without Mom would be a blast, but then whadda ya' gonna do?" Fortunately, Bruce's formidable teaching skills landed him the job of band director of South Grand Prarie High School, where he will lead a cozy little ensemble...of 250! Jazz band and other ensembles included in the package at no extra charge. The ex-Melville casa sits unsold, so if you're looking for a Katy-based abode, you might stop by for a look-see. The imminently quotable Melville says you can reach him at his new work e-mail address, bruce.melville@gpisd.org , but don't send any naughty bits. In summation, Bruce offers this stern warning: "We'll come back to Houston for the right price!"
