I will miss Ron very much. I always looked forward to hearing "THe 'Ridge" do their thing. Tons of students owe a great deal to him and I know he'll always be remembered for his great generosity and for his dedication to teaching students.

Ron volunteered his time to help judge the High School All State Jazz Audition CD for the 10 years I have been organizing the panel judges. I could always count on him. He will be missed as an important Jazz Educator in the state of Texas. My deepest condonlences to his family and loved ones. Sparky Koerner

I am extremely saddened by this news. Ronnie was one of my band directors at Forest Brook High School. He was the inspirational leader of the band program. The thing that always stood out about Ronnie to me was how much he really cared about us. He put his heart and soul into molding and shaping his students. I am very proud of all that he accomplished with us at Forest Brook and of all the success he had at TSU and Willowridge. He was a great teacher, mentor, and friend and he will be truly missed. My condolences go out to Michelle and his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Mr. Thornton, job well done!
