wow...wait for the harp runs/false harmonics at the end. He plays an altered change I'd never heard used before, too, in the second half of the verse he plays an Ab13 which really turned my ear..sure a ton of other people have done that, but no one I play with and especially not me:)

He and Jerry just do it for me...make it look simple, pure, and smooth.

Thanks for the vid, that's real nice! Your right, his use of Ab in the bass would more commonly be placed in the second half a measure functioning as the tritone substitution between Dm and G but he left out the Dm completely hitting Ab strong on beat 1 allowing the bass movement to follow an even chromatic descent. I could guess but which Jerry do you speak of?

In terms of musical substance it sounds very trite to me. However his feel & tone is exquisite.

Nice video. Amazing player.Too bad the audience did not wait for him to finish--applauded over his harmonic run. But still sweet.

Robin, your bullcrap guitar noodlings are of NO substance whatsoever. However, your time sucks, and your tone is so bad, that if I was given a choice of only hearing your tone, or a banjo/bagpipe duet for the rest of my life, I would choose the latter.

Chet is one of my favorite players. Don't know of any LP's he did with the "Snowman" (LOL) but the Chester and Lester CD still gets played around my casa.

As far as those false harmonics, you got to remember that Chet basically "Discovered" Lenny Breau. Maybe that's where's he's getting them from.

They didn't call Chet Mr. Guitar for no reason at all....

Check out "Dark Eyes" on Youtube for a young check tearing it up..

Chet also discovered many other guitarists, Jerry Reed being one of them.
