Just wanted to let people know that I just happened to stumble upon a great performance by none other than the son of guitar great Larry Coryell, Murali Coryell!! He's in Houston from NY playing a bunch of sweet original soul/blues/rock/etc.. music with a bassist and drummer, who's been on grammy winning recordings, from Austin. The good news is that they are shacked up in a hotel and will be playing again tonight(saturday) also. The shows are at the restaurant/bar crabbydaddy's. Apparently they have great rock/blues/dance bands there every weekend, I just looked at there calender and was pleasantly surprised to discover this. I highly recommend to those who like good music to check out Murali when he plays with his powerful trio again tomorrow night, they start at 11pm. I wish I could go again but I've got to work. I'm posting this because apparently there wasn't a whole lot of promotion and they ended up playing until 1:45am for a crowd mad up of me, a handful of other people and the staff... great original music deserves better!!!

he actually has more of a soul/blues/r&b sound to his music than a typical blues or rock guitar trio. He's obviously found his own groove which was astonishingly refreshing considering who his father is and the directions he could be expected to have taken. Tonight's your chance!!!?!!
