Educator, Arranger/Composer, Classical and Jazz Trombonist. Leader, Aubrey Tucker Band. Founded Jazz Studies at The University of Houston (1972) and at Houston Community College (1985). Music Program Coordinator and Assistant Division Chair for Fine Arts, Speech and Commercial Music at HCC- Northwest College. Presently teaching Music Business, Trombone, Conducting and Composition courses.
Arranger/trombonist in Las Vegas; worked with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Ella Fitzgerald, Elvis Presley, many others. Winner, five Las Vegas Entertainment Awards (Best Orchestra) with Johnny Haig Orchestra. Toured with: Woody Herman "Thundering Herd", Glen Miller Orchestra (directed by Ray McKinley), Si Zentner Band, Illinois Jacquet Big Band, "Doc" Severenson Band, American Pops Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra. Films: Texas Tenor with Illinois Jacquet Orchestra, Tryin' to Break Out (20th- Fox), music arranger. Recordings: Calvin Owens, The House Is Burnin', Ronnie Renfrow It's About Time, Buddy Kirk At the Flagship and Buddy Kirk, Aubrey Tucker Aubrey Tucker's Uptown. Aubrey Tucker also has an extensive background as a classical trombonist, conductor and composer. He was a finalist as trombone soloist in the International Music Competition in Munich, Germany. His earned degrees are from the University of Houston Moores School of Music (BM, Trombone Performance) and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music (MM, Music Theory and DMA, Music Composition).
