Background
Roseanna Vitro started her vocal career in Houston, Texas in the mid-70's with the support of Ray Sullenger and Arnett Cobb. After a two year engagment at Houston's GreenRoom and 'live' radio broadcasts on KUHF-FM, Vitro moved to New York with Houston guitarist prodigy Scott Hardy. Ms.Vitro toured with Lionel Hampton and Steve Allen and played in many major New York jazz clubs. Ms.Vitro has released records on Telarc, Concord, Skyline, Challenge, Half Note and recently signed with Motéma Music for her 12th release. She has recorded with Kurt Whalum, Kenny Baron, George Coleman, Fred Hersch, Elvin Jones, Gary Bartz, Kenny Werner, Joe Lovano, Eddie Gomez and Christian McBride. The past 12 years Roseanna began a teaching career at NJCU in Jersey City and NJPAC in Newark, NJ. In 2004 and 2009 she was chosen as a U.S. Jazz Ambassador and toured South America, Turkey, the Balkans and several other countries, teaching an performing.
