Background

A guitarist since age 12, his early influences were the rock of the late 70's and early 80's, but during his college years his tastes quickly expanded into other directions, including Jazz, Fusion, New Age, Symphonic, and Reggae. After playing in several bands in Dallas during college, Wes devoted his time to establishing his career and family. But in 2001, he was bitten hard by the musical bug after re-immersing himself into Steely Dan and standards arrangements by Diana Krall. Wes' soloing tends to be lyrical and melodic, but having a strong musical ear, he can adapt to other diverse styles when needed. He considers himself a disciple of both Eric Johnson and Pat Metheny, and considers it his "Mission from God" to spread their influence as far as possible.
