Background

 Played in several Houston/Pasadena Rock & Roll, Blues, Tejano, Latin Orchestras, and with the 60's Jeff Davis Jazz Band @ Jeff Davis High School.  played with CL, and several C&W, Rock-a-Billy, Blues bands around Texas City, League City, Clear Lake, and Pasadena area!!! Also played with local Houston bands like The Blue Notes, Joey Long, Mel Dougles, Micky Gilley, Johnny Lee, Sammy Kay, The Bishops, The Exiles, Jesse Casas and The Crystals, Eloy Perez Orchestra, Nieto Peres Band.  Johnny Reyes Band, Los Amigos. Just to name a few.  When my son got old enough to start playing little league sports I decided it was time to spend time with him and the family so I quit playing my tenor sax. But from time to time I would go out and sit in with bands like Joe Cruz and the Crusers, and my cousin by marriage Chip Allen and some of the old members from the band CL and The Pictures.
December last year 2008, I met Mark Holter at Stonebridge Church and he asked me who I was playing with.  I said nobody and he started me playing with the Church Orchestra and in January I found myself a student at Houston Community College playing with The Texas Jazz Central. I'm currently taking Improv at HCC and private lessons from Mark Holter.  Have started sitting in at Jam Sessions at The King Biscuit Cafe on Tuesday nights.  New to Jazz at this level but starting to learn how to walk again!!!!!  Really enjoying playing my sax again with special thanks to Mark Holter and all my musician friends supporting me in my efforts this time around!!!
