Background
Paul has been playing trombone and bass guitar since the early 70's. Although improvisation is his passion, reading big band and jazz charts are skills that come into play.
His earliest influences were Bill Watrous, Frank Zappa, Billy Cobham, and Stanley Clarke. But, the music of Preservation Hall drives the soul and feel of his style.
Available most week nights to step in at the last minute whether charts are available or not. Call for weekends.
Presently playing trombone and singing with Black Friday, a Steely Dan tribute band.
Previously studied music at Baylor, trombone with Andy Russell while at Baylor (long live Joannes Rochut), played bass guitar and trombone in several Houston and Austin area bands, big bands, and jazz trios.
