Background

Eddie Akhmetchine (  http://eddie-music.com  ) came to Houston on a music contract from St. Petersburg, Russia in 1993. In 1994 he received a full scholarship to study at the Clark Terry International Institute of Jazz Studies. During that time he received numerous awards from jazz festivals in Chicago,Kansas,and St.Louis cities. In 1997,after graduation, Eddie moved to New York city where he lived and played for the next two years. In 1999 Eddie came back to Houston and has been playing and teaching here since. Eddie teaches saxophone at Katy High School and Taylor High School, and performs regularly with top musicians in Houston. Eddie also writes unique compositions and has a CD for sale entitled "Look Within" available at  http://cdbaby.com  or  http://eddie-music.com.  Another excellent CD of jazz standards "Live At Harvest" is also available at http://eddie-music.com. Eddie also appears on Leo Polk's "The Pleasure Was All Mine"-a wonderful CD which also includes Paul Chester on guitar and David Craig on bass.  ..........  In June of 2008 Eddie recorded a new CD of original compositions "New Day". It was recorded at well-known SugarHill Studios by award winning Andey Bradley. The band members are: E.Akhmetchine-sax, Andrew Lienhard-piano, Paul Chester-guitar, Chris Maresh-bass, and Clyde Adams-drums. The CD was edited by Erich Avinger and Eddie at Erich's Invisible Sound Studio. The CD is sent to Aidar Akhmetchine in Russia to be remixed and will be ready soon. Eddie also is working on another CD similar in concept to his first "Look Within" CD where he does all of the tracks on his music keyboards and adds the saxes later. Lately Eddie Akhmetchine also started colaborating with DJ Mike Cherches and Eli who is a fabulous dance music producer from Israel.
