Background

Full-time professional piano player/keyboardist and vocalist for over 20 years, and lead vocalist/entertainer for 10. Qualifications include vocal and piano studies at the University of Michigan with Professor John McCollum, piano studies with Professor Phil DeGreg of the Cincinnatti Conservatory of Music, and vocal studies with Dr. Sharon Radionoff at the Sound Singing Institute in Houston, TX.

Performed and toured with groups of many different genres throughout the country (The Heat and the Cold Sweat Horns/R&B/East Coast, The Classics/Variety/Las Vegas, Boyd Chisum/Country/Southwest, The Move/Jazz/R&B/Midwest, to name a few), and performed in band, duo, and solo formats. Worked with recording artists and comedians, entertained at state fairs, casinos, resorts, cruise ships, sporting events, hotels, piano bars, and dueling piano bars across the country. Was the lead piano player/arranger and Entertainment Director at City Streets nightclub in Houston, TX for 8 years, and headlining performer at the Ivory Cat Tavern in Austin on 6th street. Received nomination for Best New Artist in Houston Press Awards 2004.

Performs regularly with own band in the Houston area. The band is a 4-piece group that does all styles of music - rock, blues, jazz, country, original songs, and their own versions of covers from the 60's through the 90's. The band consists of piano, lead guitar, electric violin, and drums. All four members of the band sing. Role in band includes songwriter, lead vocal, and playing right hand piano & left hand bass on custom electric baby grand.

Music education experience includes the following positions: the director of the After School Rock program at Rainard School for the Gifted, keyboard instructor for National Guitar Workshop's Day Jams program, music teacher at West Oaks Private School, and piano and guitar instructor to students of all ages throughout the Houston area.
