Background

Ricky Diaz, a foremost accomplished pianist, composer and arranger, developed his well known name in the entertainment business in California and went on to establish the Ricky Diaz Orchestra in Houston in 1963.

He has performed for such celebrities as Judy Garland, Bob Hope, The Platters, Four Freshman, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, and traveled with Marilyn Maye as her pianist. Ricky has been a conductor in Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, and Radio City Music Hall in New York, where he had the pleasure of conducting the Johnny Carson Show Orchestra.

The Ricky Diaz Big Band opened the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the former Remington, now the St. Regis and has been privileged to play for President Bush and President Clinton while in Houston.
