Background

He is said to be the DNA running through the veins of the hottest drummers on the east coast today! B.M. and M.Ed. University of Houston. Studied two years at the University of North Texas where without audition was placed as member of the 4 O'Clock lab band. Craig Green has either taught or had a major influence on some of Houston's foremost Nationally recognized Jazz Drummers and Percussionist including, but not limited to, Sebastian Whitaker, Chris Dave, Mark Simmons, Eric Harland, Daleton Lee, Jamire Williams, Chase Jordan, Clyde Adams II, Cory Cox, Marshall York, Courtney Adams, Jason Busch, Jonathan Weisner, Dustin Kaufman, etc...

His former students either has or now perform or record with many of today's leading jazz artists such as Kenny Garrett, Al Jearrou, Winton Marsalis, Mulgrew Miller, Joshua Redman among other



Craig Green continues to serve as Director of Bands at Johnston Performing and Visual Arts Middle School Academy. There he has earned the distinction of being the only Houston ISD and large urban area school to have earned U.I.L. Sweepstakes Honors as director of the Symphonic Band as well as developing a Nationally Recognized Jazz Ensemble which has served as the initial training gorund for all of these talented musicians!
