Background

A founding member of The Hawthorne Improv Collective, I have been helping find local free improvisors opportunities to play, and like minded people to play with for years. I have had an open session at my house every Sunday for some time (currently on hiatus till 2002) and help organize H.I.S.D. (Houston Improved Sound Deployment) at Sound Exchange (1846 Richmond) on the first and third Tuesday of each month. I have recently begun reading and arranging again, but free improv remains my primary mode of expression. I recently played trombone in Infernal Bridegroom's Tamalalia VI, and can be seen performing with alongside Charlie Naked in our noise/experimental duo The Last Bastions, as well as with The Defenestration Unit, and Synapse (featuring Robert Pearson on piano and David Maddox on reeds). I also show my dedication to the music every other Sunday by hosting a three hour block of KTRU's (www.ktru.org) amazing 12 hour jazz show. In addition to Trombone, I play electric bass, synthesizer, occasionally guitar, and quite frankly anything else you put in front of me... THREE WORDS: JUST DOUBT ME!
