Background

Kevin Patton is a jazz guitarist and electronic musician and composer who has performed with many of today’s jazz luminaries: John Abercrombie, Bob Brookmeyer, and Sam Rivers, to name just a few. He also performs in the Amsterdam based experimental electronica group Sister Syntax.

He has recently launched La Junkie Lovegun Productions, a multimedia and music production company providing audio post-production, sound design and live performance expertise. One of Lovegun's first projects was to develop a custom interface for laptop computer that allows the laptop artist to interact dynamically with video artists and DJs using a game controller. Lovegun’s musical palette is diverse – from free jazz to pop to experimental electro-ambient to interactive MSP to tape electro-acoustic – and its mission is to create space for art music in the mainstream.

Kevin is an Assistant Lecturer of Music and Studio Technician at Texas A&M University teaching guitar, sound recording and electronic music. He received his Masters in Music from the prestigious University of North Texas where he played guitar in the Grammy nominated UNT One O’Clock Lab Band.
