Born in Houston, but growing up in New Orleans, Gene began playing professionally at age 16, Gene has worked with an assortment of musicians on the new orleans scene, including:Jonathan Lefcoski, Leroy Jones, Brice Winston, Roland Guerin, Leon "kid chocalate" Brown, Jonny Vidacovich, Wendell Brunious, Ellis & Delfeayo Marsalis, & Charmaine Neville to name a few. After a "post-katrina" return to Houston he has worked with local players such as Brennan Nase, Erin Wright, Paul English, Dave Marcellin, Bill Murry, and others.
