Sylvester La Blanc Hospitalized
by JazzHouston Administrator Published: Jul 05 2011

Saxophonist/Flautist Sylvester "Stank" La Blanc was taken to Ben Taub on Monday night after falling ill on his gig at Smitty's. He's reportedly suffering from a collapsed lung. La Blanc is a founding member of the Fifth Ward Express and one of the great torch bearers to the Texas Tenor sound. We wish him a speedy recovery. Please keep Sylvester in your thoughts and prayers.
